Cybersecurity and the issues surrounding it an increasing concern for law practices of any size.  We are all familiar with the security breaches involving Sony, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Target, and Home Depot.  It is becoming a huge problem and hacking scandals can hit anyone and any company, large or small.  Protection of client data, and what we as lawyers can do to help, is critical in a world where online filing and email communication is now the norm.

This CLE  features two leaders in this area:

Neil May, Director of Service Delivery for   Carmichael Consulting in Atlanta.  An IT firm that works with many lawyers and banking industry professionals for IT/security needs.  Clients include large firms with larger budgets and sole practitioners  needing help and guidance. Neil will provide some lower cost ideas as to how to secure data.

Jonathan Franklin, Senior Microsystems Specialist for both State and Magistrate Courts of DeKalb County, has been in charge of all technical operations within the Court since 2005.   Most recently, Jon has implemented the new e-filing system for DeKalb County State Court and will talk about some of the cyber security issues he has seen within the court system and provide strategies and suggestions of how to better protect our systems.

The CLE will be from 4:30-5:30, followed by a free happy hour from 5:30-7:00 for all those in attendance at the CLE!
